General Introduction
Kocaman Pro is a mobile application for Android and iOS devices that provides fast and precise solutions for spatial engineering calculations and facilitates fieldwork using the device’s GPS sensor. All code has been written by Surveying Engineer Hakan KOCAMAN and Computer Engineer Ümit Tacettin AKGÖL.
The application consists of two main sections: Calculation Modules and GPS Modules. The Calculation Modules section performs spatial mathematical operations. In the GPS Modules section, the instantaneous location obtained from your device’s GPS sensor is converted to one of the following coordinate systems: ITRF96 and ED50 (3° TM and 6° UTM zones), WGS84 Geographic, or any of the 5,000+ coordinate systems in the EPSG v12.054 database via Global CRS selection — enabling field survey, stakeout, and area calculation operations. Points recorded in the Detailing with GPS module can be exported as a text report, KML or Shapefile (ZIP). Real-time location accuracy is shown with a color code (green / orange / red) on the Detailing with GPS, Stakeout with GPS and Area Calculation with GPS screens.
All calculations performed by the application in the background are carried out at a high level of precision. However, the accuracy of the converted coordinates is directly dependent on the quality of the WGS84 geographic coordinates obtained by your device from satellites. For this reason, Kocaman Pro is recommended for general positioning and field applications rather than surveys requiring centimeter-level accuracy, as handheld GPS devices and mobile GPS sensors cannot deliver centimeter-level accuracy; under open sky they are typically accurate to a few meters.
Privacy Policy

This policy applies to the Android (Google Play, Huawei AppGallery) and iOS (App Store) versions of Kocaman Pro. You do not need an account to use Kocaman Pro, and the app shows no ads.
1. Data that stays on your device
- Projects and points: The projects you create, the points you record and your coordinate system choices are stored only in a local database on your device. They are not sent to us or to any other server.
- Files you open: CSV, DXF, Shapefile and KML/KMZ files that you select for import or for Open Project with GPS are read on your device and are not uploaded anywhere.
- Calculations: Coordinate calculations and transformations with the EPSG v12.054 dataset run entirely on the device.
2. Location
The Detailing with GPS, Stakeout with GPS, Area Calculation with GPS and Open Project with GPS modules use your device’s location. The app asks for precise location on Android and for “While Using the App” access on iOS. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings. The GPS modules then stop working; the calculation modules keep working.
3. Data sent over the internet
- Elevation: On the Detailing with GPS and Stakeout with GPS screens, the latitude and longitude of your position are sent to the Google Elevation API to obtain its elevation. If an elevation was already retrieved for a nearby position, a cache on your device is used and no request is made. Without an internet connection no elevation is retrieved, and the point is saved without one.
- Maps: Map screens use Google Maps on Android and Apple Maps on iOS. To load map imagery, requests for the area on screen go to these services.
- Directions: When you ask for directions to the target point on the stakeout map, the target’s coordinates are passed to the Google Maps app.
- Version check (Android): When the app starts, it downloads
www.kocamanpro.com/version.jsonto find out whether a newer version exists. No app data is sent with this request. As with any web request, the server may see your IP address in its technical logs. - Usage statistics: To improve the app, usage statistics are collected with Firebase Analytics (Google): app opens, session length, screens viewed, app version, device model, operating system, language and an approximate location (country, city) derived from the IP address. This data is linked to pseudonymous identifiers such as an app instance ID, not to your name. On Android, depending on your device settings, the advertising ID may also be used. On iOS the advertising identifier is not used and no tracking takes place. Your projects, the coordinates you measure, your name and your e-mail address are not sent to Firebase.
- Ratings: To rate the app, the rating window of Google Play or the App Store is shown. Your rating goes directly to the store.
These services are subject to their own privacy policies: Google (policies.google.com/privacy) and Apple (apple.com/legal/privacy).
4. Sharing
We do not sell your data or share it for advertising. Export files (text report, KML, Shapefile) are created on your device only when you tap Share, and you send them to the app you choose (e-mail, messaging and so on).
5. Retention and deletion
Project and point data stay on your device and are deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data. Firebase Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in Firebase.
6. Your rights
To exercise your rights under Turkey’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), such as access, correction, deletion and objection, write to iletisim@kocamanpro.com.
7. Children
Kocaman Pro is not directed at children under 13, and no data is knowingly collected from this age group.

When this policy changes, the current text is published on this page and the “Last updated” date is revised.
